Hold Your Horses

June 27, 2010

Today, Women will be fashionably competing for fashion attention with their hats at the Polo event of the Season, The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Governors Island.  A hat for a Lady at a Polo event is a required accessory. So first choose your hat, then your outfit.  Polo is all about the hat ladies!  While classic preppy is always chic, remember to embrace the fun and spirit of the event.  Women throughout the centuries have held their heads high and put hats on their heads. Today’s Polo events are no different, think Pretty Women as you never know what Princess may sport you.  We have selected a hat from Louis Green’s collection: a pale rose parisisal with matching flower trim for The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic today at Governors Island.  Louise Green Millinery creations have crowned stylish women, rock stars, and movie stars since 1987.

The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic will benefit the American Friends of Sentebale, a charitable organization founded by HRH Prince Henry of Wales and HRH Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, who are committed to transforming the lives of the orphans and at-risk children in Lesotho, Africa, many of whom are living with HIV/AIDS.  At the turn of the 20th Century, polo on Governors Island was one of the highlights of the summer for the city’s social elite. In 2008, Veuve Clicquot brought polo back to Governors Island after a nearly 70 year lapse.  Beach Finds wants to cling our champagne glasses to a Toast!  “To the Best of Life” and Merci Veuve Clicquot!
