Cock Your Hat – Angels Are Attitude

April 30, 2010

If  a spring shopping spree isn’t in the budget this year, something as simple as a funky necklace or hat will do the trick of updating your look.  We all have simple, classic things in our wardrobe already, so playing with belts,  jewelry, and having  fun dressing up all the clothes you already have can be fun. Adding a belt, a hat, or a headband is what this spring fashion trend is all about.

We love the straw fedora and headbands by Designer Natalie Ann Griffith who is a 2007 graduate of the University of Michigan, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Last March (2009) Natalie decided to go to the famous “Open See” at Henri Bendel in New York City to show her first collection of hair accessories to the buyers. She arrived at 5am to find 500 others in line as well.  But, to her delight and pleasure Henri Bendel bought her collection on the spot.  Many a fashionista spotted New York Nat headbands on the television series Gossip Girls and instantly fell in accessory lust. New York Nat has had press in Teen Vogue and Seventeen Magazine, and is delighted with her success. Maybe part of the reason we covet this Beach Find is because Natalie makes all her collection by hand and like a girl after my own beachy heart, in her kitchen. Last night we caught Natalie on Twitter tweeting, “I just want to make pretty things.”   We agree New York Nat keep making your pretty things and as Frank Sinatra said, “Cock your hat, angles are attitude.”
